چکیده
Obesity is a chronic condition that also risk factor of several other conditions including type 2 diabetes. The effects maternal obesity and diabetes on fetal development offspring health are mediated through the transmission epigenetic modifications in addition to possible permanent changes organs caused by intrauterine environment hypothesized Developmental Origins Health Disease (DOHaD) theory. Epigenetic can be altered environmental factors dietary lifestyle factors. current priorities include identification confirmation specific biomarkers associated with human subjects contribute each identified biomarkers.

Epigenetic modifications in adipose tissue – relation to obesity and diabetes
The growing number of people suffering from obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global health problem that results in increased mortality from their complications, mainly cardiovascular diseases. Although the relationship between obesity and T2DM is well established, the common molecular pathomechanisms are still under investigation. Recently, it has been suggested that epigenetic ...
متن کاملCommon Variations in Perilipin rs1052700 and FTO rs3751812 Genes, Central Obesity, and Risk Type-2 Diabetes
Background: Perilipins are proteins at the external level of the lipid glob in adipocytes steroid-generating cells and play a central role in lipid storage and breakdown. FTO gene is associated with Type-2 diabetes (T2D) and increased fat mass. Association of Perilipin and FTO genes polymorphism with T2D was investigated. Methods: Clinical traits in a random sample of 183 Iranian men and wom...
متن کاملSerum Adiponectin and Vaspin levels in Abdominal Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract Objective: Adiponectin and vaspin are adipocyte-derived proteins and involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and obesity related disorders. The mechanisms that adipokines might be linked to disturbance of glucose are unclear. Thus, this study investigated the levels of serum adiponectin and vaspin, blood lipid profiles, and abdominal obesity in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) patients...
متن کاملObesity and type 2 diabetes
Obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2DM) are public health problems, with health consequences and economic costs that have raised concern worldwide. The increase in the prevalence of diabetes parallels that of obesity. Some experts call this dual epidemic “diabesity”. Elevated body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) were significantly associated T2DM. One consequence of obesity is an incre...
متن کاملA Review of Mitochondrial-derived Fatty Acids in Epigenetic Regulation of Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes, the leading metabolic disease, is characterized by insulin resistance and is associated with obesity. The onset of type 2 diabetes is largely due to environmental inputs, such as high dietary fat content and decreased levels of exercise. Insulin resistance resulting from high fat diet is associated with skeletal muscle mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to alterations in lipid ...
